In a distinctive tribute to the winemaker Jules Chauvet, Fabien Duperry was inspired by him to name his winery. Consequently, after a career as a wine merchant, the year 2007 marked the birth of the winery Jules Desjourneys.

Since then, both the name of this producer and his company have only continued to soar in reputation. He began in Beaujolais, where he crafted red wine; yet he yearned for more, daring to venture into white wine production. For this, he crossed northward to the esteemed Mâconnais, drawing inspiration from the region's finest producers for his creations. In his own image, he has crafted remarkably intriguing wines, such as Domaine Jules Desjourneys Macon-Fuisse Bois de La Croix.

Domaine Jules Desjourneys Macon-Fuisse Bois de La Croix is a single-varietal chardonnay produced in the climat Chardonnets, a specific area within the village of Fuissé situated at the foot of the forest Bois de la Roche. Here, the vineyards are perched on both sides of the A.O.C. Pouilly-Fuissé (another prestigious appellation of the region), where the vines are planted at an altitude of around 280 meters and bask in the continuous sunlight. The limestone prevalent in these soils provides the perfect substrate for the growth of the chardonnay, an indigenous grape of the region and the unrivaled sovereign of these vineyards.

In the winery, Fabien Duperry operates in his unique way. Within a contemplative state, the winemaker simply observes the evolution of Domaine Jules Desjourneys Macon-Fuisse Bois de La Croix. Only if the wine deviates from its intended course will Fabien Duperry intervene to guide the must during fermentation and its subsequent maturation in barrels.
