About Domaine Jules Desjourneys Saint Veran

For years, as a good wine merchant, Fabien Duperray had been responsible for representing the best winegrowers in Burgundy: Jean-François Coche, Arnaud Ente and Pierre Morey are some of the names Fabien Duperray did business with. Today he himself is part of this dream team thanks to his wines, such as the white Domaine Jules Desjourneys Saint Veran.

Fabien Duperray has been showing what he is capable of since 2007. After buying some vineyards at the Fleurie AOC and the Moulin-à-Vent AOC, in 2014 he partnered with Christophe Thibert, and together they bought some chardonnay plots in different appellations in southern Burgundy, in Mâconnais. One of these, in the Saint-Véran AOC, is where Domaine Jules Desjourneys Saint Veran is produced, the undisputed base on which its white wine production is based. For Fabien Duperray, the key is to do everything by hand (land work, the harvest, the winemaking itself) and long aging in the cellar. Certified organic, all its vineyards are cultivated biodynamically, always seeking low yields that are subsequently sorted and selected in the cellar to achieve the best vinifications. Domaine Jules Desjourneys Saint Veran is the result of a blend where Fabien Duperray has mixed plots with different locations: some at the top of the hill (with limestone and stony soils), and others more at the foot (on deeper and sandier soils).

Finally, after careful fermentation, Domaine Jules Desjourneys Saint Veran rests in stainless steel tanks (Fabien Duperray has not used wood for years).
