About Domaine Lamarche Hautes Côtes de Nuits

Life goes on... and so does wine. In June 2013, a tragic car accident claimed the life of François Lamarche, the soul of Domaine Lamarche and a pivotal figure in Burgundian wine. He was 69 years old and, as on many days before, was returning from the vineyard on his tractor. His loss was a profound blow to Vosne-Romanée, but it also marked the beginning of a new chapter.

His daughter Nicole and his niece Nathalie, who had been working alongside him for years, took the helm with determination. Nicole assumed technical management, from vineyard to cellar, while Nathalie handled the domaine's administration. Since then, under their leadership, the Lamarche legacy has evolved without losing an ounce of authenticity.

One of the most personal outcomes of this era is Domaine Lamarche Hautes Côtes de Nuits. Sourced from a 1.5-hectare plot on the slopes of Concoeur, it is farmed organically, and the harvest is done manually at the optimal moment of ripeness. In the winery, the selected Pinot Noir grapes, with 30% whole clusters, ferment with indigenous yeasts, adding structure and complexity to the wine. Afterwards, the wine ages for 12 months in barrels, aiming to preserve its vibrant and fruity character.

As a result, Domaine Lamarche Hautes Côtes de Nuits is a silky Pinot Noir from the AOC Hautes Côtes de Nuits / Côte-d'Or. A wine that honours the memory of François and celebrates the vitality of a generation continuing to write this family story with passion and precision.
