About Domaine Ledogar Roug’e Clair

Domaine Ledogar Roug'e Clair is a natural red wine made from the Mourvèdre and Cariñena varieties in the Languedoc-Roussillon area of France by Domaine Ledogar.
 
When Xavier and Mathieu Ledogar, the fourth generation of Domaine Ledogar, took on the estate in the village of Ferrals-les-Corbières, they stopped selling grapes to the local cooperative to start making their own wines. For this, they have 22 hectares of organic-certified vineyards and they grapes are vinified with minimal intervention.
 
Domaine Ledogar Roug'e Clair comes from old vineyards grown on wind-eroded clay and sandy soils. Organic and biodynamic methods are used and all the vineyards have been Ecocert certified since 2006. Following the lunar calendar, working with animals and using natural fertilisers made from herbal teas and plants are common practices in the vineyard.
 
In the winery, once the Domaine Ledogar Roug'e Clair grapes have been harvested by hand, they are firstly macerated for one day before being pressed and then the must ferments spontaneously with native yeasts. Finally, the wine is bottled without filtering, clarifying or adding sulphites.
