About Eguren Ugarte Reserva

Dominio de Ugarte Reserva is a red wine from the appellation of origin (D.O) Rioja produced by the winery Eguren Ugarte. The winery is a family run business in Languardia (La Rioja Alavesa).

Dominio de Ugarte Reserva is produced from the varietal Tempranillo (95%) and a touch of Graciano (5%). The grapes originate from vines planted in 1965 in soils rich in chalk and clay.

For production, the wine undergoes traditional winemaking techniques. After the maceration and fermentation process Dominio de Ugarte Reserva is aged for 12-15 months in new American oak barrels and rests in the bottle for a further 24 months.

For optimum enjoyment is it recommended to open the wine to breathe for 30 minutes before being served.

2018

Eguren Ugarte Reserva 2017 is a red wine with a robust and well-defined character. On the nose, it presents a complex and elegant aroma, where notes of ripe fruits such as plums and blackberries stand out, accompanied by subtle spicy and balsamic touches. On the palate, it is full-bodied and vigorous, with a concentrated and well-balanced structure. The nuances of its aging in wood are perfectly integrated, providing depth and persistence in every sip.

Eguren Ugarte Reserva 2016 exhibits a bright cherry red hue with fine, intense tears that slowly descend the glass. On the nose, this wine reveals a captivating aroma of ripe fruits such as plums and cherries, complemented by hints of liquorice, vanilla, and a subtle scent of roasted coffee. On the palate, it offers perfect balance with a rich and full-bodied texture. The mature flavours and the smoothness of the tannins combine to leave a persistent and satisfying aftertaste.                      
2015

Eguren Ugarte Reserva 2015 is a robust red wine. Olfactorily, it is intricate, exhibiting aromas of morello cherry, licorice, vanilla, roasted notes, and hazelnut. On the palate, it is exceptionally flavorful, boasting a solid structure. It concludes with an extended finish.
2010 A potent and fleshly opening. Passing to an unctuous and tasty flavour with memories of ripened black fruit. Acidity is well balanced and tannins are well integrated. A long after taste.

A very intense and expressive cherry red.

Ripe black fruit aromas with spicy, mineral notes and liquorice.
2009 Powerful, flavourful and fleshy. A good attack, soft to the touch and a good balance between the fruit and ageing. A long finish that is reminiscent of dark fruit, toasted notes and cocoa.

Intense, bright cherry red. A fine, intense and slow tear.

Intense, penetrating and complex. Ripe dark fruit against a spiced, mineral and smoked backdrop. Enveloping, well integrated woods.
2008 A round, very expressive and long wine with a good attack and a long, tasty, smooth, dry and fresh mid palate. The flavours found in the nose are felt again in a good balanced. A well-bodied wine with a good structure and integrated tannins (even if the need some more time to finish polishing). Long and persistent finish. A traditional Rioja with an excellent value for Money.

Dark cherry maroon colour with maroon edges. Bright and clean wine with a high robe and elegant slow-falling tears.

Before swirling the glass, lovely aromas of wood and spices are noticed. After swirling the wine, expressive notes of ripe red fruit are released with more spicy and creamy aromas and hints of cocoa, tobacco and coffee. Intense and harmonious, very balanced set.
2007 This powerful Dominio de Ugarte is a loyal reflect of the aromas felt on the nose and fills the mouth of silky, ripe fruit sensations very well integrated with the notes provided by the oak. Its subtle spicy notes (black pepper, coffee and vanilla) round out this great wine. It has ripe tannins and a long and persistent finish. One of the classic Rioja wines with an excellent value for money.

Intense dark cherry colour with maroon edges. High robe. Clean and bright wine with slow-falling glycerique tears.

Intense aromas with very expressive notes of very ripe and even liquorised fruit. The creamy and toasted aromas of the noble woods are felt along with the subtle spicy hints. All the aromas are very balanced and none of the stands out hiding any other.
2006 Elegant, pleasant, concentrated and dry wine, with a velvety and intense mid palate with very expressive notes of fruit mixed with spicy and creamy touches. It has ripe tannins, a fresh acidity and a lingering finish.

Very dark cherry colour with maroon edges. Clean and bright wine with dense tears.

Elegant bouquet with ripe black fruit (almost jam) along with complex spices, creamy and toasted notes provided by the noble oak with a light touch of leather.
2004 A particularly balanced wine, with ripe tannins and powerful.
