About Dureuil Janthial Rully Rouge

Dureuil Janthial Rully Rouge is a red wine produced by Domaine Vincent Dureuil-Janthial with the Pinot Noir variety in the AOC Rully, in Burgundy (France).

Behind the name Dureuil-Janthial lies a winemaking tradition that has been passed down through the generations since the 14th century. This estate is part of several Burgundy AOCs and the latest member of the family, Vincent Dureuil-Janthial, took over in 1994 to continue the classic high-quality work whilst also introducing improvements in the vineyard and the winery. He is a talented winemaker whose personal touch has seen his wines become some of the best in Rully.

Dureuil Janthial Rully Rouge comes from 40-year-old vines planted on a clay and limestone mound. No herbicides have been used here since 2001, instead opting for biodynamic treatments that promote the natural balance of the terroir. The lunar calendar is taken into account during every process and the grapes are harvested late to allow them to reach maximum ripeness.

In the winery, the Dureuil Janthial Rully Rouge grapes pass over two selection tables and macerate cold for 8 days. Fermentation lasts for days and is followed by maceration. Finally, the wine ages for 12 months in French oak barrels, one third of which are new.

Being a leading winery in the production of Côte Chalonnaise whites, this Dureuil Janthial Rully Rouge shows that they also have a great way with reds. A deliciously savoury and elegantly pure Pinot Noir.

2018

Dureuil Janthial Rully Rouge 2018 is a smooth red wine with aromas of red fruits, herbal notes and mineral hints. On the palate it is broad, velvety and pleasant. A gourmet red wine full of fruit, with hints of wood and light savoury touches.
