One of the bottles most frequently recognised by this organisation is El Grifo Malvasía Lías, a wine that, since 2012, boasts an extensive list of accolades from these esteemed competitions and events organised by the OIV. As it stands, it must be highlighted.
 
El Grifo Malvasía Lías is a white wine produced by the oldest winery in the Canary Islands (Spain), a venture located on the island of Lanzarote, which has been contending with fire, wind, and rock for over 250 years to create wines with a unique character. Specifically, in this highly awarded wine, the malvasía grape comes from four vintners in the locality of Tinajo who practice heroic viticulture with an exclusive pit cultivation system to shield the vine from heat and wind. The harvest is done manually in 18-20 kg boxes, and the grapes are pressed without destemming. After a static settling of 24 hours, the must ferments with indigenous yeasts, and then half of the wine ages in 500-litre French oak barrels while the other half is kept in stainless steel tanks for several months (always less than a year). During this period, manual batonnage or stirring of the lees is performed until the time comes to blend the two batches (both the one kept in the tank and the one in the barrels). After bottling, El Grifo Malvasía Lías remains in the bottle for several more months.
