El Loco de Finca La Colina is a young white wine made by Vinos Sanz with the Verdejo and Sauvignon Blanc varieties in the D.O. Rueda (Castilla y León).
The Vinos Sanz winemaking project has six generations of history behind it. This is a family legacy lying in the heart of Rueda with their own vineyards in La Seca, which have been traditionally cultivated for decades.
The El Loco de Finca La Colina white wine comes from vines over 40 years old planted in stony soils. Influenced by a continental climate with cold winters and hot summers, the grape grows through significant temperature variations. They are cultivated using traditional agriculture and the harvest is carried out at the optimum point of ripeness.
In the winery, the El Loco de Finca La Colina grapes are destemmed and gently pressed. The resulting must is clarified by gravity for 24 hours and cold macerated for 6 hours. Alcoholic fermentation takes place slowly in stainless steel tanks and at a controlled temperature of less than 14ºC for 15 to 20 days. Finally, it is clarified and filtered before bottling.
El Loco de Finca La Colina is the most irreverent white made by Vinos Sanz. In this coupage, the elegance of Rueda’s native Verdejo variety is complemented by a wild touch of Sauvignon Blanc.
