Emilien Feneuil Coteaux Chamery Rouge Pinot Noir 2018 is a modern-style red wine, boasting a brilliant and clear crimson hue. On the nose, it reveals a sophisticated and complex aroma with prominent notes of strawberries and sweet hints of orange blossom. On the palate, it offers a delicate entry and a silky passage, with great balance and freshness. Its finish is persistent, evoking pleasant sensations of mocha.

About Emilien Feneuil Coteaux Chamery Rouge

Although many vignerons choose to transition from selling grapes to producing their own wine, it is not an easy task. In addition to requiring additional investments in equipment, it necessitates oenological knowledge and time to dedicate to the vinification process. However, the satisfaction of creating their own wine and having the opportunity to express their identity and personal style is highly motivating. This is how Emilien Feneuil, a young man who, upon acquiring the 4 family plots located in the Montagne de Reims in Champagne (France) and transitioning from conventional farming to biodynamic viticulture, is inspired to create his own wines in his hometown of Sermiers.

With a total of 2.37 ha. spread across villages surrounding the winery, wines such as Emilien Feneuil Coteaux Chamery Rouge Pinot Noir are born, a red wine from a plot owned by Emilien in Chamery, where the pinot noir grows on the typical clay-limestone soil of this commune. Under organic certification, Feneuil prepares his own treatments and promotes biodiversity in each of his plots, combining vines with fruit trees. In the winery, vinification is carried out separately. It first undergoes a 10-day maceration with skins and a spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts. Afterwards, the wine remains in barrels for 20 months.

Having worked in organic vineyards since 2006, starting champagne production in 2015 in the cellars of fellow champagne producers, and having his own winery in 2020 upon acquiring the first press in the village, Feneuil makes his dream a reality. That of crafting fascinating and expressive wines that reflect the authenticity of a unique terroir.
