About Enclòs de Peralba Tres Feixes

In Pla de Manlleu, the highest area of Penedès, Roc Gramona and Leo Gramona cultivate Enclòs de Peralba Tres Feixes, a single-varietal wine made from garnacha blanca.
 
With this indigenous white grape, these cousins make a clear statement of intent, highlighting the primary goal of their project: to revive the traditions and wines of Penedès. This venture, which began in 2017, involves not only the recovery of historical varieties but also their biodynamic cultivation and minimal intervention winemaking. Only in this way can they produce wines like Enclòs de Peralba Tres Feixes.
 
The old vines planted in 1939, growing on calcareous soils, are the origin of this limited-production white wine. Enclòs de Peralba Tres Feixes is a very special wine. Located between the Catalan pre-coastal mountain range and the coastal plains, this area south of Barcelona is one of the most interesting not only for its soils but also for its warm and mild Mediterranean climate, which varies in different microclimates depending on altitude and specific conditions. In the case of Enclòs de Peralba Tres Feixes, the vineyards are situated right at the transition to Alt Penedès, where the temperature contrast is greater and the influence of the sea is still noticeable.
 
In the winery, all these elements are not only respected but also maximized by always carrying out a non-interventionist vinification, allowing the wine to develop without any constraints. After the harvest of Enclòs de Peralba Tres Feixes, the grapes are gently pressed to obtain a fresh, clear, clean, and high-quality must. From here, Enclòs de Peralba Tres Feixes goes directly to the fermentation tanks where the sugars in the must are converted into alcohol. This process is carried out by indigenous yeasts, which play a crucial role in the procedure. Finally, Enclòs de Peralba Tres Feixes undergoes several months of aging on lees, which helps to soften and add body to this very limited-production white wine.
