Encomienda de la Vega 2023 is a red wine that dazzles with its deep cherry red hue and violet rim. On the nose, it stands out for its high intensity, revealing a harmonious blend of ripe fruits such as currants, balsamic notes, and hints of liquorice. An intoxicating aroma of coffee truffle and cherry liqueur adds complexity and depth. On the palate, it is a luscious wine, with good acidity and pronounced yet pleasant tannins, accompanied by irresistible spicy and fruity notes, as well as subtle liquorice and coconut husk.

About Encomienda de la Vega

Encomienda de la Vega is a red wine from D.O. Toro, the 'small' one of Bodegas Divina Proporción.
In 2009 they began to construct the winery and in 2012 they planted the vines around the building. The first wine arrived in 2011.
This wine is a single variety Tinta de Toro grown in 15 hectares of their own vineyards with vines of a minimum age of 30 years old, located around the winery, over 600-900 metres above sea level.
The climate in this area is extreme as the winters are already very cold (minimum of -10 degrees) and summers are very warm (maximum of 40 degrees)
The harvest is done by hand and in small crates in order to ensure they arrive at the winery intact. The selection of the grape is the same in the vineyards as in the winery, the quality is fundamental.
After the maceration of the grapes in stainless steel deposits, they undergo a fermentation with local yeast for 10 days.
Finally, Encomienda de la Vega rest in French and American oak barrels for 5 months in order to gain longevity without losing freshness and joy.

2021

Encomienda de la Vega 2021 is an exuberant and youthful red wine that captivates with its blend of dark fruit aromas such as blackberries and plums, intertwined with hints of ripe red fruits reminiscent of strawberries and cherries at their peak of ripeness. It also weaves in gentle flashes of coconut and spices, underpinned by a subtle layer of toasted notes that contribute to its complexity. Upon tasting, it unveils a dry and robust texture, with an acidity that balances its body and accentuates its flavorsome nature. The presence of tannins imparts a slight roughness, suggesting it will age gracefully over time. The finish is mildly astringent due to the oak, yet it leaves a lasting impression of fruitfulness.
2013 On the palate it is dry with an adequate acidity and flavour. Fruity and spicy. Good persistence.

Garnet colour with purple rim.

On the nose there is a medium to medium-high intensity. We can appreciate the black and red fruit notes that are almost preserve with toasted, spice, balsamic and cocoa notes.
2010 In the palate, this Spanish wine is powerful, balanced, tasty and intense. It shows a great acidity which makes it highly fresh, deep and crispy. It is the kind of acidity which invites to the next sip. Its fleshy and pleasant tannins are quite noticeable. It has a long and persistent finish which leaves fruity and spicy notes in the aftertaste. A red wine with an unbeatable value (and pleasure) for money.

Dark cherry colour with violet reflections. Clean and very bright. It has beautiful tears that stain the glass.

Medium-high intensity nasal aromas with an explosion of notes of fruit. Its notes of ripe black fruit such as blueberries, raspberries, cherries in liquor and stewed blackberries, give way to spicy nuances and hints of liquorice.
