About Ezio Cerruti Fol

Why stick to stereotypes when there’s a whole world to discover? Ezio Cerruti, a pioneering and independent winegrower from Piedmont in Italy, works his 7 hectares of vineyards in the municipality of Castiglione Tinella (Cuneo) under this premise. Choosing exclusively the native Moscato variety, a grape traditionally used only to make sparkling wines, Ezio goes a step further by daring to make dry and sweet wines.

An example of this can be found in Ezio Cerruti Fol, a white wine from vineyards up to 60 years old planted in calcareous sedimentary soils. These vines are located on steep slopes about 400 meters above sea level and worked under an organic regenerative philosophy where plants and microorganisms grow between the rows in total freedom.

Once the grapes have reached their optimum ripeness, they’re harvested by hand and a direct pressing process begins in the winery. Ezio Cerruti Fol must ferments spontaneously with native yeasts and then ages on lees for about a year in used wooden botti. The result is an aromatic, refreshing white wine, a pure expression of Muscat.

Ezio Cerruti Fol 2022 unfurls a subtle charm with its youthful and vibrant profile. Its bouquet invites us on a stroll through sun-drenched orchards, with vivid evocations of ripe apples and pears, interwoven with delicate essences of spring blossoms and a distinctive mineral undertone, reminiscent of damp stones. Upon tasting, its vivacity rejuvenates, unveiling an unexpected depth and a framework that holds with finesse, delivering a crisp and unadulterated journey across the palate.
2018

Ezio Cerruti Fol 2018 is a white wine profiled with aromas of white fruit, floral notes and hints of flint. On the palate, it’s refreshing, deep and well balanced. A wine with a bright acidity, a citric passage and a saline finish.
