About Família Nin-Ortiz Selmot Ancestral

There are bottles that transcend mere wine: they are the heartbeat of a new generation. Thus, Família Nin Ortiz Selmot Ancestral is born, the sparkling debut of Andreu Ortiz, son of Ester Nin and Carles Ortiz, crafted with the same artisanal conviction as his parents and with his own forward-looking vision. An ancestral sparkling wine that is not only delightful but also exhilarating. So much so that Luis Gutiérrez, Parker's taster, has described it as "one of the best ancestral sparkling wines I have tasted."
 
The surname Nin Ortiz is already synonymous with excellence. Their winery, acclaimed with the coveted 100 Parker points, has turned biodynamic viticulture into a way of life. Ester and Carles tend to the land as one would care for a sacred garden: without herbicides, with natural compost, and with the serenity of those who understand that a great wine is born long before it reaches the winery. Today, this legacy continues to beat in the hands of their son Andreu, who honours the family tradition from the small estate in Pla de Manlleu (Alt Camp, Tarragona).
 
Família Nin Ortiz Selmot Ancestral is made with montònega grapes, as the white parellada variety is known in Alt Camp, cultivated at altitude and hand-harvested. Fermentation begins naturally and completes in the bottle, where it rests on lees for approximately 10 months. The result is a handcrafted sparkling wine, vibrant, with the vibrant tension of the calcareous soil and the purity of well-executed craftsmanship. Very few bottles have been produced, each with its own soul.
