About Fattoria Rodano Chianti Classico

Fattoria Rodano Chianti Classico is an organic single-varietal red wine made from Sangiovese grapes by the winery Fattoria di Rodano, under the DOCG Chianti Classico designation, in Tuscany, Italy.

The grapes used to produce Fattoria Rodano Chianti Classico come from a picturesque south-facing vineyard in Viacosta, which is undoubtedly the jewel of the estate. It is crafted following organic farming principles, fermenting in large wooden barrels and undergoing a lengthy ageing process of several years. 

Fattoria di Rodano is situated at an elevation ranging from 200 to 300 meters above sea level, on the route from the Elsa Valley to Castellina in the heart of Chianti. This path was part of the ancient “Via Francigena” used by pilgrims travelling across northern Europe, from the Rhône to Rome.

Fattoria di Rodano dates back to the 16th century and, despite being in an area surrounded by large wineries, remains a small family-run estate, led by Enrico Pozzesi, producing its wines in an artisanal manner. Undoubtedly, this Fattoria Rodano Chianti Classico is one of the best-kept secrets of Tuscany.

Fattoria Rodano Chianti Classico 2018 is a juicy red wine with aromas of black fruit, notes of violets and wild herbs, and hints of wet earth and tobacco. On the palate it’s very fruity, delicate and elegant. An easy-to-drink wine, fresh and with a long, pleasant finish.
2016 Fattoria Rodano Chianti Classico 2016 is a red wine with hints of wild cherries and subtle earthy and tobacco notes accompanied by a smoky hue that gradually develops and eventually expresses itself clearly. On the palate it reveals a mature wine and reaffirms the fruit. The acidity brings freshness. It has a long and persistent finish.
