About Finca Antigua Syrah

Finca Antigua Syrah is a red wine from La Mancha prepared by the Finca Antigua winery. This winery belongs to the Martinez Bujanda group.

Finca Antigua Syrah is a varietal Syrah. The grapes come from strains on 1000ha of a stunning estate, located in the municipality of Los Hinojosos (Cuenca). These vineyards are cultivated at 900m of altitude on loam soil high in calcium carbonate.

The grapes are harvested in the third week of September.

Its preparation includes a traditional winemaking. The fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. The wine is macerated for 17 days.

Finally, Finca Antigua Syrah is aged in French oak for 10 months.

2012 Nice, creamy and enveloping entry. Its passage is fresh and velvety. Fruity and mineral hints. Aftertaste is round.

Cherry red with violet rim. Medium high layer.

Intensely aromatic. Presence of aromas of black and red fruit with balsamic, spices and lactic notes.
2011 Nice attack, very creamy and dense. Minerals, fruit and wood all very well integrated. Tasty finish.

Intense and bright purple colour. Very dense tears stain the glass.

Fresh and complex aromas appear at first. Upon swirling the glass, mineral aromas, along with flowers (violets) and notes of liquorice are released.
2010 Upon the palate, it is lusciously creamy and unctuous, yet approachable. The tannins are finely polished, exhibiting a harmonious balance with a commendable acidity.

It boasts a purple hue, presenting itself as clear and luminous.

On the nose, it is exceptionally complex. Prominent are the scents of blue flowers, violets, and lilacs, with the wood components seamlessly integrated.

2005 Nice entry, very creamy and fat in your mouth, because it is well polished tannin of the grape which is accompanied by light wood tannin French. Spectacular development in the mouth with happy end. Invites you to repeat the shot. Good acidity.
