Baron de Ley Finca Monasterio is a red wine from the DOCa. Rioja produced by Barón de Ley. This wine is a single-varietal made from Tempranillo.

The grapes used for Baron de Ley Finca Monasterio come exclusively from a single vineyard, planted in 1985, located around a Benedictine monastery founded in the 16th century in the town of Mendavia, in Rioja Baja - hence the name of the wine.

After the corresponding harvesting processes, carried out according to conventional methods, Baron de Ley Finca Monasterio is aged for at least one year in new French oak barrels.

Ultimately, Finca Monasterio is bottled without filtration or stabilization, which may result in natural sediments remaining in the bottle.

Barón de Ley is a project that began in 1985 with the acquisition of 90 hectares of vineyards. The winery's facilities, as they stand today, were expanded in 1997. The Baron de Ley Finca Monasterio is presented as one of the leading examples of the new generation of wines produced by the winery.

Baron de Ley Finca Monasterio 2021 is an intense cherry-red wine with violet hues. On the nose, it presents distinct aromas of blackberries and plums, accompanied by notes of jam, fine woods, black tea, coconut, and a hint of cocoa and clove. On the palate, it is structured and flavourful, with well-integrated tannins. Its profile is juicy and elegant, with smoky and peaty notes, culminating in a pleasant and rounded finish. 2009 In the mouth, it is a red wine which shows power and body in the perfect measure. It has a mid-palate marked by a great acidity and a ripe and sweet tannic sensation. It is like in the nose harmonious and balanced. Long and persistent finish which leaves intense, fruity and toasted notes at retro-olfaction.

High-intensity nose in which ripe, black and juicy fruit stands out, together with pleasant toasted, spiced and roasted hints appear little by little. A very harmonious nose.
