Finca Villacreces 2021 is a red wine that presents a powerful and enveloping aroma, where ripe black fruit intertwines with nuances of liquorice, toffee caramel, and a delicate mineral and balsamic backdrop contributed by the cabernet. On the palate, it enters with volume and smoothness, unveiling mature tannins that caress the palate while notes of coffee, black fruit, and a hint of liquorice emerge, accompanying a long and persistent finish. About Finca Villacreces

Finca Villacreces is a red wine from the DO. Ribera del Duero crafted by Finca Villacreces.

The winery is part of Artevino Family Wineries, proprietors of several wineries across different Spanish D.O.s, such as Bodega Izadi in La Rioja and Vetus in Toro.
In this instance, the winery Finca Villacreces was established in 2004 when the Grupo Artevino acquired the estate that would lend its name to their Ribera del Duero winery. Finca Villacreces is regarded as one of the most spectacular estates in the D.O.

The red wine Finca Villacreces, which shares its name with both the estate and the winery, is a blend of the tempranillo, cabernet sauvignon, and merlot grape varieties.

The grapes are sourced from a selection of the lowest-yielding plots within a 64-hectare vineyard located in Quintanilla de Onésimo, right in the heart of the Golden Mile, a viticultural strip renowned for the quantity and quality of its wineries and wines.

The harvest is conducted entirely by hand in 15kg boxes during the second and third weeks of October. Upon arrival at the winery, a meticulous selection of the bunches is performed first, followed by the individual grapes.

For its production, after a thorough destemming of the grapes, a traditional fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks.

Finally, Finca Villacreces undergoes 12 months of ageing in fine-grain French oak barrels (Darnajou and Taransaud).

Finca Villacreces is the elder sibling of Finca Villacreces Pruno, deemed one of the finest Spanish wines ever for under 20 euros according to Robert Parker.

Fruit predominates, adorned with mature tannins. A robust, flavorful, and elegant red wine with a long and persistent finish.
2015 Finca Villacreces 2015 is a mature, expressive and elegant red wine. An excellent vintage that allows us to appreciate all the character and complexity of this typical Ribera del Duero wine. Aromas of ripe red fruit, with spicy notes and elegant toasted notes from its ageing. In the mouth, it shows volume and balance, with a generous mid-palate and a very long finish.
2011 Nice and balanced. Step is fruity with hints of ripe red fruit. Well integrated into a wine with body. Long finish.

Cherry red. Deep and intense.

Intensely aromatic. Predominance of ripe red fruit with toasted notes, cocoa and fine floral nuances.
2010 In the mouth, this wine is both balanced and complex. There are notes of dark fruits and smokiness. There is a long aftertaste.

2006 Large and fresh attack, with a silky, meaty and very tasty mid palate. Great load of fruit softened by some spicy notes. Its balsamic touches provide it with freshness. Soft and round tannins. Excellent balance. Elegant and very persistent finish.

Intense cherry colour with purple reflections. Quite dense tears which stain the glass.

Finca Villacreces 2006 shows a rich aroma. The notes of ripe, almost candied, red and black fruit, take center stage along with some hints of chocolate and coffee, some creamy aromas, and a touch of vanilla and licorice. Subtle floral notes.
2005 Flavor presents whole body, full of flavor and layers of spicy black fruits. Long and pure finish.

Color purple spotting.

Aroma of mocha / espresso, graphite, roasted, wild blueberries and blackberry liqueur.
