About Follas Novas

Follas Novas is a single-variety Albariño white wine produced by the Paco & Lola winery, in the D.O. Rías Baixas in Galicia , Spain.

Vine growers and winemakers from the O Salnés region, in Galicia, joined forces to form the Cooperativa Vitivinícola Arousana, which in 2005 founded the Paco & Lola winery. Right from the beginning, they decided to work on their 220 hectares of vineyards using sustainable cultivation and with maximum care for the environment.

The grapes used to make the Follas Novas wine come from vineyards with vines ranging in age from 20 to 40 years old and that grow in plots with loamy-sandy, granitic and slightly acidic soils.

The grapes ferment in stainless steel tanks at 16ºC for 21 days, creating a fresh and fruity wine.

2023

Follas Novas 2023 presents itself with an appealing straw-yellow hue and greenish glints. On the nose, it exudes a moderate intensity, with prominent notes of white flowers, accompanied by citrus elements such as lemon peel and lime, as well as white fruits like apple and pear. On the palate, it is fresh and luscious, boasting a well-balanced fruity profile and a good persistence that invites continued enjoyment. A light and pleasant wine that highlights its youthful character.                      
2022

Follas Novas 2022 is a white wine that enchants with its vibrancy and lightness. As one brings it closer to the nose, a bouquet of white flowers unfolds, featuring jasmine and orange blossom, interwoven with hints of citrus fruits such as lemon and tangerine, beckoning a refreshing sip. On the palate, its youthfulness is articulated through zestfulness and a well-balanced acidity, leaving behind a delightful and effortlessly enjoyable sensation. It is perfect for those seeking an uncomplicated yet distinctive wine.
2021 Follas Novas 2021 is an exquisite white wine that presents a bouquet redolent of white blossoms intermingled with citrus nuances, set against a delightfully balsamic backdrop. Upon tasting, it is lusciously sweet yet invigorating. This white wine is succulent, with a harmonious acidity, and is eminently quaffable.
2018 Follas Novas 2018 is a white wine that offers aromas of apples and pears on the nose, with citrus notes of limes and lemon peel and a nuance of white flowers. On the palate it is light and fresh, reflecting the characteristics of the variety. A white wine with a good fruity intensity.
