About Paco & Lola Godello

A cooperative winery is set up with two aims. Firstly, to produce wine in collaboration and therefore reduce production costs, and secondly, to sell wine together, reducing the need for intermediaries and improving the position of small winegrowers in the marketing process. So the cooperative played a key role in the production and selling of wine during the 20th century. One example of this system is the Paco & Lola winery, which is run by more than 430 partners who manage more than 2,000 small plots in the Salnés Valley, in Rías Baixas. With a fun and casual image, easily recognisable by the white polka dot labels, the result is a modern and high quality Albariño white wine. All to showcase the characteristics of a Galician smallholding.

But as well as working fully with the Albariño variety in the Rías Baixas, Paco & Lola go one step further, daring to try their luck in the D.O. Valdeorras. Paco & Lola Godello is a white wine made from the free-run juice of the best Godello grapes from their own vineyards planted on granitic soil. These grapes are sustainably cultivated and harvested by hand in small boxes to ensure that they reach the winery in perfect condition. In the winery, the grapes undergo natural fermentation at a low temperature for approximately 21 days. Finally, the wine is aged for three months on fine lees.

Following the same line of work of being committed to the land and its winegrowers, Paco & Lola ventures into Valdeorras with great success. Paco & Lola Godello is fresh, unctuous and balanced. Maximum quality with the recognisable image of this iconic winery.
