About Francesco Poli Schiava Belle Rosato

There are places that have a certain charm, that become unique because of the beauty, tranquility and light they emanate. It is in one of these places, in the small village of Santa Massenza (in Trentino, Italy), that we find the Francesco and Alessandro Poli estate and distillery. An oasis of peace where insects and plants happily coexist and where the ladybird lives a happy life. Despite its adorable appearance, this insect is actually a voracious predator of bugs that attack plants like spider mites, mealybugs, caterpillars and beetle larvae. So ladybirds are a great friend to the organic gardener. It is in this context that vineyards planted with native vines grow in harmony with nature and are vinified with minimal intervention. All this to make wines that bring together history, tradition, quality and territory.

Francesco Poli Schiava Belle Rosato starts life in the estate’s 6 hectares of vineyards. A sparkling rosé made with Schiava variety vines, a red grape that is native to Trentino and planted in loamy and calcareous soils. They are over 30 years old and cultivated following the principles of biodynamic viticulture. Only natural sulphur and copper and biodynamic preparations like horn silica or horn manure are used as fertilisers. The grapes are harvested by hand and then vinified in stainless steel tanks. Once the base wine has been made, it is aged in the bottle with the addition of the Trentino Vin Santo must.

The result is Francesco Poli Schiava Belle Rosato, the purest expression of the native Schiava variety. A fresh, smooth and persistent sparkling wine made in the most natural way by the expert hands of Francesco and Alessandro Poli and the relentless help of the ladybird.

2020

Francesco Poli Schiava Belle Rosato 2020 is a fine-bubbled sparkling wine with aromas of red fruits accompanied by herbaceous notes and hints of yeast. On the palate it is fresh, light and persistent. A very pleasant and easy to drink wine with mineral touches.
