About Franck Bonville Champagne Brut Blanc de Blancs N/V

The phylloxera crisis marked a watershed moment in the world of viticulture. It not only altered cultivation techniques but also tested the trust and courage of winemakers. It was in this context that Alfred Bonville, at the dawn of the 20th century, decided to embark on an adventure and in 1900, from his residence in Oger, began seeking plots to plant vineyards—a risky endeavour in an era still overshadowed by the devastation of phylloxera. Ultimately, he settled in the terroir of Avizé, one of the most prestigious areas for the production of this iconic sparkling wine, where he began to lay the foundations of a legacy that would endure for generations.

Over the years, Alfred worked alongside his son Franck Bonville, and together they began crafting their first own vinifications, always with respect for the land and a passion for viticulture. Today, the fourth generation, led by Olivier Bonville, keeps that spirit alive, with a heritage of 20 hectares of Grand Cru vineyards spread across Cramant, Avize, Mesnil-sur-Oger, and Oger.

The distinctiveness of the house is reflected in their champagnes, characterised by that signature aroma and flavour of brioche, a result of exceptional terroir, respectful exploitation of nature, and meticulous artisanal vinification. All of this is perfectly embodied in Franck Bonville Champagne Brut Blanc de Blancs, crafted with 100% chardonnay following the traditional method and with a dosage of 8.3 g/L. A marvellous combination of elegance, freshness, and the pure essence of this historic Champagne house.
