Fuerza 2022 astonishes with its deep cherry-red hue, enticing one to delve into its exquisite aromas. Upon nosing, one can discern enveloping notes of black fruits, such as blackberry and plum, interwoven with subtle hints of sweet spices and a touch of vanilla, courtesy of its barrel ageing. On the palate, it is a full-bodied wine, with silky, well-integrated tannins that provide a velvety sensation. Its finish is long and persistent, with a pleasing hint of oak. This wine stands out for its balance between fruit and wood, making each glass a captivating experience.

About Fuerza

Fuerza is a red wine crafted by the winery Ego Bodegas in Jumilla, DO Jumilla.

A mere few kilometres from the historic centre of Jumilla lies Ego Bodegas. A venture established with the aim of working with the finest vineyards in the area to obtain the best grapes for producing high-quality wines, true to the variety and emblematic of the region.

Ego Bodegas boasts 25 hectares of its own vineyards, predominantly featuring the native variety Monastrell, grown on ungrafted vines with an average age of 50 years.

The climate of the area is continental, influenced by the Mediterranean to the East and the La Mancha plateau to the West.

Fuerza is a wine crafted from Monastrell and Cabernet Sauvignon. The finest grapes are selected from the estate's own vineyards.

The harvest is conducted manually in 15kg boxes with a rigorous selection of grapes in the vineyard. Each variety is vinified separately, fermenting in stainless steel tanks with temperature control to ensure it does not exceed 28°C, with maceration lasting around 20 to 30 days depending on the variety. The malolactic fermentation takes place in French and American oak barrels where it remains for 12 months.

 

Fuerza is a mature, intense, and well-balanced wine. It unabashedly reveals the full character of the Mediterranean climate.
