"If you listen closely, the wine will reveal many tales to you." For behind every glass lies a story; that of the terroir where it was born, the hands that harvested the grapes, and the passion of those who crafted it. It is not merely about aromas or flavours, but about messages that speak of origin, tradition, and dreams transformed into wine.

This is well understood by Santos Ortiz and Ioana Paunescu, the couple who brought Ego Bodegas to life in 2011. United both personally and professionally, their expertise in finance, marketing, and sales evolved into a venture where business acumen merges with the emotion of crafting wines with soul. Since then, Ego has continued to expand, now boasting nearly twenty labels, all with the same aim of evoking emotion.

Among them shines Ego Bodegas Promesa Monastrell-Syrah, a wine that lives up to its name. Born from a blend of monastrell and syrah, it melds the Mediterranean strength of the former with the spicy elegance of the latter. The hand harvest, carried out at its peak in early autumn, ensures each bunch contributes its utmost quality. Both varieties are vinified separately, fermenting and macerating with the skins for about 10 days at controlled temperatures, before coming together in a balanced blend that matures for a time in French oak barrels.

The result is Ego Bodegas Promesa Monastrell-Syrah, a wine that "speaks" clearly and delivers on its promise: to captivate, astonish, and leave a lasting impression.

Promesa Monastrell-Syrah 2024 is a wine that captivates at first glance with its deep ruby red hue. Bringing the glass closer reveals a charming aroma reminiscent of ripe cherries, blueberries, and a subtle hint of raspberry. On the palate, the tannins are smooth, enveloping each sip with a delightfully silky texture.
