About Furlani Macerato

Furlani Macerato is a sparkling wine coupage of various local white varieties produced by Cantina Furlani as a Vino de Tavola in Trentino, Italy.

Cantina Furlani is a young winery that cultivates vineyards in the hills above the city of Trento, in Italy. These plots reach heights of up to 720 metres above sea level and the vines are cultivated in traditional raised pergolas that grow on limestone soils.

The grapes used to make Furlani Macerato come from vineyards cultivated according to the principles of biodynamic agriculture, avoiding herbicides, pesticides and chemical fertilisers.

The harvest is carried out manually, in small boxes. When the grapes reach the winery, they are destemmed and macerated with the skins, then racked and gently crushed. Fermentation takes place spontaneously in stainless steel tanks with no added yeasts or chemicals. The resulting wine undergoes a second fermentation in the bottle, with its yeasts and no sugar or sulphur is added.

Cantina Furlani strives to produce its wines in a completely artisan way, using methods that unite avant-garde and tradition. This work results in a range of natural, simple but elegant wines with a marked and authentic personality.

Furlani Macerato 2019 is a sparkling wine with fruity aromas on the nose accompanied by spicy nuances and subtle herbaceous notes reminiscent of the Alpine hills of Trento. On the palate it is fresh and flavoursome. An original, fruity and refreshing sparkling wine with character.
