About Georges Descombes Brouilly Vieilles Vignes

Georges Descombes Brouilly Vieilles Vignes is a natural Beaujolais made in the AOC Brouilly by Georges Descombes with the Gamayvariety.

A master of the purest Beaujolais, Georges Descombes began his winemaking project on the family estate in 1988 with the aim of capturing the maximum expression of each vintage and terroir. He works with minimal intervention, and this results in pure and honest wines that are enjoyed by everyone who tries them.

Georges Descombes Brouilly Vieilles Vignes comes from some old vines planted on granitic soil hills around Mont Brouilly. They are cultivated using ecological agriculture with organic and biodynamic practices and the grapes are harvested exclusively by hand, at full maturity, and selected in the vineyard itself.

Once the Georges Descombes Brouilly Vieilles Vignes grapes have been crushed, they begin a spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts and very low sulphur content. The wine then ages in used French oak barrels for 12 months. Finally, the wine is bottled without being filtered, clarified or adding sulphites.

With only 3 hectares in Brouilly, Georges Descombes seduces us with this light and fresh Vieilles Vignes. An authentic Beaujolais with brilliant fruitiness that goes with everything.

Georges Descombes Brouilly Vieilles Vignes 2018 is a smooth red wine with a captivating bouquet of red and black fruits, spicy notes and a deliciously mineral framework. On the palate it is fresh, fine and sweet. A wine with a crisp and pleasant acidity that will leave you wanting more.
