Gómez Cruzado El Predilecto is a red wine produced by Gómez Cruzado in Haro, La Rioja, under the D.O.Q.a Rioja.
The winery was founded in 1886 in the famous station neighbourhood of Haro, where you will find the classic and most renowned wineries of the Rioja Alta. The winery’s vineyards are divided among three zones of the Rioja Alta, in the Sierra Cantabria, Nejerilla and Alto Najerilla, all cultivated using sustainable viticulture.
Gómez Cruzado El Predilecto is made using two different grape varieties: Tempranillo, taken from the Sierra de Cantabria; and Garnacha, from the hights of Najerilla.
Vinification is carried out in in truncated cone shaped stainless steel tanks with daily pump overs and delestage with the aim of achieving the best extraction of the grape. Malolactic fermentation is then carried out in new French oak barrels, where it then rests for 5 months.
Gómez Cruzado El Predilecto is a red wine which seeks for the most lactic and toasted part of the wine, where we can find a background of mature fruit.
