About Gratavinum GV5
Gratavinum GV5 is a red wine made by the Cusiné family at their winery in Gratallops (Priorat).
The name Gratavinum comes from the joining together of the name of the town where the Gratallops winery is located, and Vinum, wine in latin. A nod to history, since it was the Romans who introduced vinegrowing to this region many centuries ago. Gratavinum currently have 17 hectares of vineyards, all grown organically.
Gratavinum GV5 is a blend of cariñena and garnacha tinta. It ages for 10 months in new French and Hungarian oak barrels.
| 2015 | Gratavinum GV5 2015 is an exceptionally distinctive red wine. The journey through this wine begins with the eyes, captivated by its deep garnet hue (indicative of a high layer), and continues through the nose, where it is intense and evolves: from dark berries to pencil lead and graphite, interspersed with mineral nuances. On the palate, it is sweet and warm, boasting well-structured tannins. The acidity is outstanding, showcasing a pronounced mineral profile. The finish is prolonged, intense, and distinctly mineral. |
|
| 2008 | Powerful and concentrated attack. Fleshy on the palate, full of fruit and fine woods. Ripe tannins accompanied by a good acidity. Long, slightly dry finish with good persistence. A spicy, mineral aftertaste. Very intense, covered cherry colour. High robe. Slow-falling, slightly tinted tears show on the glass. Clean, intense, complex and concentrated nose. Aromas of ripe red and black fruit accompanied by intense roasted notes. Mineral and balsamic touches in the background. |
|
| 2007 | GV5 has a broad and fresh attack and a fleshy mid palate full of fruit and sensations of the lands of Priorat. Ripe tannins and good acidity. Aftertaste of red and black fruits accompanied by spicy and mineral touches. Long and persistent wine. Very intense cherry colour. Slow legs that dye the glass. Good aromatic complexity and structure. Concentrated and very sweet aromas. Macerated fruit comes along with notes of chocolate and spices with a strong mineral background. |
