About Gut Oggau Emmeram

The family is always there, and Gut Oggau understands this well. In this project, each member has a distinct personality: Bertoldim is the voice of experience, Joshuari embodies maturity, Theodora is the cheerful young lady… and then there's Emmeram, the eccentric uncle: witty, open-minded, with an aroma that invites you to say, "Wow, he really knows how to have fun!”

In Burgenland, Austria, Gut Oggau is synonymous with authenticity and a deep affection for the land. Founded in 2007 by Stephanie and Eduard Tscheppe, the project began as an act of courage. A 17th-century winery, closed for over twenty years and covered in dust and cobwebs, was transformed into the home of the most peculiar wine family.

The truth is, the neglect of the vineyards turned out to be a blessing: free from chemicals, they could be immediately cultivated under biodynamic principles and achieved Demeter certification. Each grape, each bunch, receives the same care and affection as family members during a gathering.

100% gewürztraminer, biodynamic, aromatic, and fragrant, Emmeram is destemmed and fermented with indigenous yeasts in 500-litre oak barrels, then aged for 12 months in the same barrels.

If wines were people, Emmeram would be that uncle who arrives at the family dinner with unforgettable anecdotes: witty, charismatic, and wonderfully unpredictable.
