About Gut Oggau Theodora

Gut Oggau Theodora is a natural white wine from Neusiedlersee-Hügelland (Burgenland) made by the Gut Oggau winery with the Grüner Veltliner and Welschriesling varieties.

Gut Oggau is a project that started out in the small town of Oggau, in Burgenland (Austria) with Eduard Tscheppe and his wife Stephanie in 2007. A 14-hectare wine estate that had been abandoned for 20 years, which meant they could immediately start using Demeter-certified biodynamic cultivation on the vines.

Most of the vines are mixed in the field and each wine comes from a single plot of vines with different terroirs. Wines with unique personalities that are reflected on the faces on the labels, bringing together the fictional Gut Oggau family tree. Gut Oggau Theodora comes from 35-year-old vines planted in gravel and limestone soils.

Once in the winery, the grape goes through spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts in wooden barrels for 8 months. Then Gut Oggau Theodora is bottled without clarification, filtration or adding sulphites.

Gut Oggau Theodora is a young white wine with a light body whose image and name is inspired by one of the three children of the Gut Oggau family. A young girl who, like wine, is cheerful and friendly as well as trustworthy and reliable.
2017 Gut Oggau Theodora 2017 is a dry white wine with aromas of white flowers, ripe melon and kiwi. On the palate it is pleasant, bright and full of energy.
