About Gut Oggau Winifred Rosé

Gut Oggau Winifred Rosé is a natural rosé wine produced by the Gut Oggau winery in Neusiedlersee-Hügelland (Burgenland) with the Blaufränkisch and Zweigelt varieties.

Gut Oggau is an estate with 14 hectares of vineyards located in the province of Burgenland, at the edge of Lake Neusiedl. Founded by Eduard and Stephanie Tscheppe, this is a winery that produces unique and original biodynamic wines certified by Demeter. A family of wines, each with a unique personality, as you can see from the labels.

Gut Oggau Winifred Rosé comes from a single plot of strains with different gravel and limestone terroirs. Vines that are mixed in the field with no pesticides or chemicals added. Ancient and natural techniques are used in cultivation. Once the grapes reach their optimum ripeness, they are harvested manually.

When the Gut Oggau Winifred Rosé grape reaches the winery, it is destemmed and macerated for 1 day. Alcoholic fermentation takes place spontaneously with native yeasts in 500-litre oak barrels. It then spends 8 months in oak barrels. It is not filtered or clarified and no sulphites are added.

Gut Oggau Winifred Rosé is a biodynamic rosé wine that represents one of the family’s little ones. A light and young wine that is very easy to drink, whilst also being full of nuances.
2017 Gut Oggau Winifred Rosé 2017 is a fruity rosé wine with notes of cherry, raspberry and mineral touches. On the palate it is very fresh, light and vibrant.
