About Hacienda Monasterio Reserva

Hacienda Monasterio Reserva is a red wine from the D.O. Ribera del Duero, crafted by Bodegas Hacienda Monasterio, one of the prominent wineries in Ribera del Duero.
Peter Sisseck, the mastermind behind one of Spain's most renowned wines, Pingus, and Carlos de la Fuente are the individuals who harness the full potential of the grapes, creating wines that embody and express the qualities of the land where they are cultivated.
Bodegas Hacienda Monasterio adheres to fully ecological farming practices, showing complete respect for the environment. They refrain from using any pesticides or herbicides. As fertilizer, they use composted vineyard waste combined with sheep manure.

Hacienda Monasterio Reserva is a blend of Tinto Fino and Cabernet Sauvignon. The grapes are sourced from a south-facing estate with predominantly limestone soil, which imparts significant elegance and finesse to the wines.

The harvest is conducted manually, and the grapes are transported to the winery in small plastic crates to prevent damage before arrival, ensuring all properties remain intact. Following destemming, the grapes undergo a meticulous selection process.

Fermentation is carried out exclusively with natural yeasts. Malolactic fermentation takes place in French Allier oak barrels, with racking every three months, a process that aids in separating the wine from the lees.
Hacienda Monasterio Reserva undergoes aging for nearly two years in French Allier oak barrels before resting in the bottle for at least another 12 months prior to being released to the market.

A complex and highly expressive red wine from Ribera del Duero and the Tinto Fino variety.
