Heras Cordón Reserva 2019 is a red wine that exudes character and elegance. On the nose, it reveals cherries, forest fruits, blackcurrant, and cassis, with subtle hints of roasted aromas and a touch of pink pepper that arouses curiosity. About Heras Cordón Reserva

Heras Cordón Reserva is a red wine coupage where the Tempranillo variety predominates, accompanied by a small percentage of the Mazuelo and Graciano varieties, produced by Bodegas y Viñedos Heras Cordón, under the DOCa. Rioja in Spain.
 
Heras Cordón Reserva is made with bunches which come from plots located in La Rioja Alavesa and La Rioja Alta, located between 550 and 405 meters above sea level, which have very stony soils composed of clay and limestone. The Tempranillo vineyards are 46 years old, while the Mazuelo vineyards are 35 years old and the Graciano vineyards are 31 years old.

The grapes are selected and harvested by hand. On reaching the winery, they’re vatted in stainless steel tanks where they ferment with their native yeasts at a temperature of 30ºC, with periodic pump-overs.

The resulting wine carries out malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks and then undergoes an 18-month aging process in French and American oak barrels.

Heras Cordón Reserva is an intense, elegant and fruity red wine, which shows the personality and essence of two great wine sub-areas of Rioja, product of the hard work of a family winery with a centuries-old tradition like Heras Cordón.

2016

Heras Cordón Reserva 2016 unfurls with vigor from the outset, presenting a spectrum of aromas where red cherries and forest fruits such as redcurrants and blackcurrants predominate, all enveloped in a lively freshness. Upon swirling, notes of roasted coffee and a hint of delicate pink pepper awaken. On the palate, the wine bursts forth with fruity flavors and a silky texture. Its progression is harmonious, with an acidity that accentuates its freshness and smooth tannins that impart structure and distinction. It boasts a medium to full body, displaying concentration and richness.
2015 Heras Cordón Reserva 2015 is a red wine which on the nose offers aromas reminiscent of red cherries, berries, currants and cassis, accompanied by a delicate roasted note and fresh, spiced nuances. On the palate it’s concentrated, where the fruit is reaffirmed accompanied by well-integrated, silky tannins. A fresh, balanced red wine.
