The Mediterranean islands provide the quintessential backdrop for an unforgettable holiday. From the cliffs overlooking the crystalline waters to the endless bays and coves, each corner beckons with the promise of a dreamlike experience. Moreover, what truly distinguishes these vacation destinations is the opportunity to delve into their culinary and wine routes. One such idyllic island is Ustica, a small piece of volcanic land amidst the Tyrrhenian Sea, in Sicily, where one can enjoy not only its natural resources but also the exquisite treasures offered by Hibiscus. This winery, which embraces a long-standing agricultural and wine-making tradition, utilizes sustainable practices and technologies to produce wines of significant character and vibrancy, beautifully reflecting the volcanic nature of the soil, the proximity to the sea, and the biodiversity of the landscape.

A prime example of their craft is found in Hibiscus L'Isola Bianco, a blend made from local white varieties, catarratto, inzolia, and grillo. Vines that plunge their roots into flint soils are cultivated using organic methods and are exclusively hand-harvested. Following the harvest, the grapes are promptly transported to the winery where they are meticulously selected and gently crushed to commence fermentation in stainless steel tanks with temperature control. Subsequently, the wine is aged on fine lees for 4 months before being definitively bottled.

As a testament to the island's calling, Hibiscus L'Isola Bianco is a white wine that highlights the richness and authenticity of Ustica's volcanic and marine landscape. It is a celebration of the nature and biodiversity that defines this petite paradise by air, land, and sea.

Hibiscus L'Isola Bianco 2022 is a youthful and delicate Sicilian white wine that glistens in the glass with a pale yellow hue. On the nose, it unfurls a spectrum of scents with lemon, mirabelle plum, pear, and apple taking center stage, offering an alluring freshness. On the palate, it is dry and clingy, with a velvety texture that impeccably balances its aromatic intensity. Flavours of apricot and lemon linger in a prolonged finish, complemented by subtle mineral undertones. This wine is a vibrant expression of the Sicilian terroir.
