About Idoia Negre

Idoia Negre is a red wine from the D.O. Catalunya made by Ca N'Estruc, a small winery whose roots date back to 1548, situated on the hillside of the Montserrat moutains.
This wine is made with Syrah and Grenache grapes according to the traditional winemaking process. The grapes go through the process separately according to variety and age. The wine then ferments in stainless steel deposits at a controlled temperature with daily pump-overs for about 15 days.
The wine has been aged for 12 months in French oak barrels from Allier from different cooperages. The barrels are new, one and two years old, and medium-toasted.
2012 Fresh, intense and unctuous on the palate with fruity notes. Balanced with well integrated tannins. Long finish.

A picota cherry red colour with maroon reflections.

Fruity aromas (ripe red fruit) and milky notes. Leather, tobacco and sweet spices.
2006 Powerful attack, with a dry and sweet mid palate. The fruit is perceived in the nose along with intense touches of spices. Silky, integrated tannins. Some astringency and a not very persistent aftertaste at the finish.

Bright cherry red colour with garnet trims.

Aromatic intensity in which the powerfull notes of toasted and spices emerge on a background plenty of ripe red fruit.
2005 Intense, repeated nose fruit sensations, slightly astringent. Tannins well integrated. Medium-long aftertaste.

Cherry pillory with garnet reflections.

Aromas of black fruit and very ripe red, balsamic notes and upbringing (smoky and leather).
