About Impromptu Sauvignon Blanc

Impromptu Sauvignon Blanc is a white wine made in Utiel-Requena by Bodegas Hispano+Suizas. As the name suggests, it is a varietal Sauvignon Blanc.

The grapes come from old vines from vineyards owned by the winery. The vineyards are of a low yield, which give a high quality grape planted in limestone-clay soilsand exposed to a continental climate with Mediterranean influences.

The harvest is done manually, and is performed in the morning at peak hours to maintain the freshness of the grapes until their arrival at the winery. The transfer of the grapes is done in small boxes of 15kg, which help them arrive at the winery in the best possible conditions. Once in the winery, the grapes are kept for 3 days at -10 ° C in cold storage, trying to get a great extraction of aromas and flavours by breaking the cell wall of the grape.

The grapes are destemmed and squeezed to obtain a paste which is placed into stainless steel tanks and left to marinate for more than 16 hours at 0 °C.

After the soaking, a slight pressing using a pneumatic press must apply. This wine is decanted for 24 hours to clean it of impurities.

The fermentation of this wine occurs in new American oak barrels of 400 litres at a temperature of 14ºC.

At the end of fermentation, Impromptu Sauvignon Blanc stays with its lees until bottling. Impromptu Sauvignon Blanc is not filtered, so there may be precipitates.

Impromptu Sauvignon Blanc is a great white wine, its previous vintages won awards for best white wine made from Sauvignon Blanc in Spain and best white wine from Spain by the trade publication 'La Semana Vitivinícola'.

Impromptu Sauvignon Blanc 2022 emerges as a mineral-infused, youthful, and effervescent wine. On the palate, it boasts a well-sculpted structure, delivering a supple texture and a lingering finish. 2017 Impromptu Sauvignon Blanc 2017 is a creamy white wine with structure and freshness. In this vintage, the aromas of tropical fresh fruit stand out, with light toasted notes. In the mouth, it is silky, mineral and with a very long finish.
2015 Fruit-forward and richly textured. The wine is viscous with a superb acidity, culminating in a delightful, protracted finish on the palate.

It boasts a pale yellow hue with hints of green.

On the nose, it reveals a mineral character intertwined with pronounced fruity notes, offering considerable intensity and an intriguing zestfulness.
2014 Good presence of fruit. Creamy, dense but soft at the same time. Tropical fruit, vanilla and slightly herbaceous notes. With good acidity. Final long lingering aftertaste.

Yellow gold with some green reflections. Clean and bright.

High intensity on the nose. White tropical fruit, citrus compote, some toasty notes and some minerality.
