About Ego Bodegas Infinito Monastrell

Infinito is a red wine produced by the winery Ego Bodegas in Jumilla, D.O.Jumilla.

 

A few kilometres from the historic centre of Jumilla we can find Ego Bodegas. This project was created with the aim of working with the best vineyards in the area and of achieving the best grapes to produce high-quality wines, loyal to the variety and representative of the area.

Ego Bodegas has 25 hectares of their own vineyards, most of them planted with the local Monastrell variety, ungrafted, and with an average age of 50 years.

The climate in the area is continental, with the influence of the Mediterranean to the East and the plateau of La Mancha to the West.

 

Infinito is a wine made from Monastrell and Cabernet Sauvignon. They select the best grapes from vines that are over 40 years old, planted at 900 metres of altitude.

They are manually harvested and placed in 15-kg boxes. Each variety is vinified separately, fermenting in stainless steel deposits at a controlled temperature so that it does not exceed 28°C. This wine goes through malolactic fermentation in French and American oak barrels, where it remains for 18 months.

 

 

2019

Ego Bodegas Infinito Monastrell 2019 is a red wine that reveals an intense and fresh bouquet, where ripe black fruit, almost candied, mingles with balsamic notes and delicate floral and tobacco hints. On the palate, it presents as robust and well-structured, with an enveloping entry that leads to a silky and fleshy passage, offering a delightful and perfectly balanced experience. A wine with great character and captivating smoothness.
2018

Infinito 2018 is a concentrated red wine, pure Monastrell. On the nose, it is very spicy and peppery, with hints of cumin, blackberries, and tar. On the palate, it is fresh and chewy, with dry but tight and smooth tannins. A certain bittersweet character. Oak flavors. Good aging potential.
2016

Infinito 2016 is a powerful, silky and structured wine. The extremely ripe black fruit aromas stand out, with floral notes and slight hints of tobacco, resulting from its long ageing.
