About Izadi Larrosa Negra

There are many geographical triangles. Three points of connection that concentrate specific soil, climate, and altitude. In the case of Izadi, owned by Artevino Family Wineries, it is so evident that it is even displayed in its triangular logo. A winery located at the epicentre of three towns in the Rioja Alavesa (Villabuena, Lapuebla, and Samaniego) that are nourished by the Ebro River and protected by the Sierra Cantabria. Ideal conditions for viticulture and, with a commitment to terroir and respectful viticulture, the grape becomes the true protagonist in each of its wines.

Izadi Larrosa Negra is a clear example of this philosophy of highlighting the uniqueness of the fruit, in this case, the Garnacha. A red wine that originates from the highest vineyards of the DOCa Rioja. Old vines planted on stony soils at 700 metres above sea level, cultivated traditionally, with manual harvesting at the optimal moment of ripeness. In the winery, the grapes are destemmed and undergo a gentle crushing. Subsequently, fermentation begins in stainless steel tanks, followed by aging in second and third-year French and American oak barrels for 6 months.

This is how Izadi Larrosa Negra is achieved, a red wine where the protagonist is, undoubtedly, the Garnacha grape, which Izadi knows how to showcase with all its freshness and varietal character.

Izadi Larrosa Negra 2020 is a juicy red wine with aromas of fresh black fruit, notes of violets and hints of spice. On the palate it is fresh, flavoursome and elegant. A very pleasing wine with chalky tannins, a very fruity mid-palate and a perfectly integrated aging.
