Izadi Selección 2020 is a red wine that captivates from the very first moment. On the nose, the harmony of ripe red fruits, toasted nuances, and subtle aromas of undergrowth and spices arouses curiosity and prepares the senses. On the palate, its silky tannins envelop with flavours of ripe fruit and elegant toasted notes, inviting one to savour it slowly, whether with a fine grilled meat, a stew dish, or shared among friends at a dinner where each sip celebrates the wine's intensity and elegance.

About Izadi Selección

In the realm of wine, as in many other matters, a guiding principle is always upheld: better a little of the best than an abundance of the inferior. This is not merely a matter of preference, but of nature itself, as vineyards, upon reaching a certain age, tend to decrease in yield, potentially enhancing their quality. It is well known... Mother Nature, in her infinite wisdom. Such plots, where this natural law is observed, are highly sought after and valued by any winemaker. In the case of Izadi, they seize the opportunity to craft Izadi Selección. 
 
Between Villabuena, Samaniego, and Ábalos lies this magical triangle where Izadi Selección originates. Traditionally, this wine was known as Izadi Reserva, but since 2011, not only has its name changed, but also its blend, composed of various red grape varieties such as tempranillo, garnacha, graciano, maturana, and mazuelo. These varieties thrive on clay-limestone soils, at an altitude of 520 metres, cultivated sustainably, where all tasks are performed with utmost care and craftsmanship. 
 
Following the harvest (conducted manually in 15-kilogram boxes), Izadi Selección is brought to the winery, where it is destemmed and gently crushed. Once the harvest paste is obtained, Izadi Selección is transferred to stainless steel tanks where the must ferments at a controlled temperature. Finally, Izadi Selección is racked and transferred both to stainless steel tanks and new barrels, where it undergoes malolactic fermentation before concluding with 16 months of ageing in French and American oak barrels. 
 
Izadi, along with other wineries such as Villacreces, Vetus, and Orben, is part of Artevino Family Wineries.

2019

Izadi Selección 2019 is a red wine with an intense and attractive ruby-red hue. On the nose, it reveals an elegant complexity with aromas of raspberries and ripe cherries, balanced with toasted notes and hints of undergrowth and spices. On the palate, it is flavorful and intense, with silky tannins that fill the mouth and leave a pleasant taste of ripe fruit and elegant toasty nuances. Its profile is concentrated, offering a rich and satisfying experience.                      
2018 Izadi Selección 2018 is a red wine with aromas of ripe red fruits accompanied by toasty, undergrowth and spicy notes. The palate is intense, with ripe fruit flavours and a delicate toasted nuance typical of its aging. An elegant, intense and complex red wine with silky tannins.
2015

Izadi Selección 2015 is a concentrated wine with clear aromas of red fruits and notes of wood as well as a delicately spicy background. On the palate it is fruity, flavoursome and very enveloping. It has a long, balanced and lingering finish.
2001 In the mouth, the same pattern shown in the nose appears: it is expressive and round. It has a good, well integrated acidity and very pleasant ripe tannins. Long and persistent finish.

Nice and intense ruby red colour. Very clean and bright. It shows abundant tears.

Round, balanced and expressive nasal aromas with high intensity. Its notes of red fruit share first stage with some light spicy nuances, soft milky notes and refined aromas provided during the ageing.
