About Jean Leon Vinya Gigi

Vinya Gigi is a white wine from the Penedès prepared by Jean Leon. This wine is a varietal Chardonnay.

Vinya Gigi comes from grapes from a vineyard named Gigi, in honour of the daughter of the founder of the winery, Jean Leon.

Vinya Gigi undergoes a period of fermentation and is then aged for about half a year in French oak barrels with its lees.

Vinya Gigi finally remains in the bottle for at least six months before being marketed. The Jean Leon winery was founded in 1964 and takes its name from its founder. He began in New York working as a taxi driver and, years later, ended up being the owner of a successful restaurant in Hollywood.

2021 Jean Leon Vinya Gigi 2021 is an exquisitely aromatic white wine. The bouquet reveals scents of ripe tropical fruits interlaced with nuances of buttery (lactic notes), toasted oak, and spices, a result of its barrel aging. On the palate, it displays a full body and silkiness, perfectly balanced with its invigorating acidity. This white wine is sophisticated and lingering, culminating in a finish that is intense yet pleasantly tart.
2019 Jean Leon Viña Gigi 2019 is a very expressive white wine. The nose shows notes reminiscent of butter, which harmoniously accompany aromas of tropical fruit, with hints of toast and spices. The palate is full of fruit and freshness. Elegant woody notes appear here, reminiscent of its ageing. A white wine with a refreshing and balanced acidity, with a long and persistent finish.
2013 Fresh and persistent. Good acidity with notes of oak.

Straw yellow with greenish hues.

High intensity. Lactic notes and aromas of tropical fruit combined with toasted notes and spices from the barrel.
2012 On the palate, it is opulent and robust, exhibiting a smooth evolution and a persistent aftertaste. The hue is a yellow tinged with subtle straw-like shades. Aromatically, it impresses with its intensity and refined delicacy, distinguished by a dominance of fruity aromas (peach, apricot, and melon), complemented by lactic nuances, toasted hints, and honey.
