About Jean Leon Vinya Le Havre

Jean Leon Vinya Le Havre Reserva is a red wine from the D.O. Penedès made by Jean Leon. Behind this great wine we find a humble and exciting story that tells us about the life of Jean Leon, a Spaniard to ended up a big hit in Hollywood thanks to his restaurant.
Jean Leon departed from the French port of Le Havre as a stowaway on a ship bound for the United States. A sailor soon discovered him, but in an act of generosity, he decided to keep the young man's presence on board a secret. Vinya Le Havre is a tribute to an unspoken pact with a stranger who changed Jean Leon's life forever.

Turning to the wine, it is made with Cabernet Sauvignon grapes and a small percentage of Cabernet Franc. After fermenting in stainless steel vats this wine ages in French and American oak barrels for 18 months and then ages for at least two years in the bottle.

2019

You will undoubtedly be astonished by the intense crimson hue of Jean Leon Vinya Le Havre 2019. Its deep cherry color, with a high to medium layer, heralds the robust nature of this concentrated red wine. A symphony of spices unfolds, starting with bell pepper notes, followed by ripe red fruit and hints of toasty oak. On the palate, it is full-bodied, sumptuous, and vibrant, with fresh and flavorful tannins. A true delight!
2006 It is a red wine with a great structure. It shows a soft attack and a long mid-palate, where high-quality tannins can be noticed. Long finish with pleasant reminiscences of tobacco leaves.

Beautiful cherry red colour with violet edge. Medium robe.

In the nose, it is remarkable for the elegance of its ripe fruit aromas. Jam, compote and wild fruits touches. Its balsamic notes and its mentholated hints also stand out. Toasted background with pepper, bay leaves and vanilla reminiscences.

2004 In the mouth has a fleshy and velvety attack. Good structure with sweet tannins, with notes of quince and nuts (toasted hazelnuts), retaining a good potential for aging, with a long aftertaste, pleasant and persistent.
