About Jean-Yves Péron La Petite Robe

Jean-Yves Péron La Petite Robe is an orange wine made by Jean-Yves Péron in Savoy (Vin de France) with the Jacquère
variety.  
In 2004, Jean-Yves Péron fell in love with some micro-plots with old vines on the mountainous slopes of Chevaline, in the French Alps   and set up his own winemaking project there. Influenced by his mentors Thierry Allemand and Bruno Schueller he uses natural winemaking methods to produce lively, fresh wines with a mineral background.  
 
Jean-Yves Péron La Petite Robe comes from a small plot composed mainly of limestone soils. Despite not having any official certification, the vineyards are cultivated according to organic and biodynamic principles. These are old vines lying at an altitude of 350 to 550 metres above sea level. The grapes are manually harvested when they reach optimum ripeness.  
 
In the winery, the Jean-Yves Péron La Petite Robe grapes macerate with skins for two weeks. The must ferments spontaneously with native yeasts and then ages for 12 months in used oak barrels with its lees. Finally, the wine is bottled without clarifying, filtering or adding sulphites.  
 
Jean-Yves Péron La Petite Robe is a deep and mineral orange wine that comes from a high quality mountainous terroir. The perfect natural wine to discover Savoy’s exclusive Jacquère variety in its purest form.
 
2018 Jean-Yves Péron La Petite Robe 2018 is an aromatic orange wine, redolent with the scents of ripe white fruit, hints of white blossoms, and mineral undertones. On the palate, it is a light-bodied wine with modest alcohol content and a delightfully crisp acidity. The finish is exquisitely saline.
