About José Pariente Finca Las Comas

José Pariente Finca Las Comas is a single-variety Verdejo white wine produced by Bodegas José Pariente in Valladolid, Spain, in the D.O. Rueda.

In the 60s, winemaker José Pariente began producing white wines made with Verdejo, the area’s flagship variety. Currently, his daughter Victoria Pariente is continuing the good work started by her father when the current winery opened its doors in 1998 by meticulously cultivating the vines and being firmly committed to research and development.

José Pariente Finca Las Comas is made with grapes that come from an exceptional Las Comas vintage, a small plot located at 730 metres above sea level, planted on gravelly soils with strains over one hundred years old. The wine ferments and ages with its lees in a 2,250-litre foudre for 12 months.

This work results in a subtle and meaty single-variety Verdejo that is free from treacly and artificial notes, and with fewer than three thousand bottles made. A portrait of aromatic elegance that this renowned Spanish variety is known for and that Bodegas José Pariente manages to bottle with masterful skill and care.
