About José Pariente Sauvignon Blanc

José Pariente Sauvignon Blanc is a white wine produced in the OJ Rueda by Bodegas José Pariente. José Pariente Sauvignon Blanc is made from a single varietal grape variety, Sauvignon Blanc. O.D. Rueda is a name known for the Verdejo variety, but José Pariente demonstrates that one can also can make excellent wines from other varieties in this region.

The grapes for this white wine come from some of the first Sauvignon Blanc vineyards planted Rueda over 30 years ago, on a rocky soil poor in organic matter, magnesium and calcium, with limestone in the higher areas.

This results in a low yield but high quality grapes. The vineyards have a harsh continental climate, with very cold winters and hot dry summers. The contrast in temperature between day and night is very high, helping to maintain a great balance between sugar and acidity in the grapes.

The harvest is done manually and the grapes are transferred to the winery in small boxes of 20 kg. The preparation begins with stripping of the grape, followed by a cold maceration for about 10 hours.

After maceration, the grapes are pressed in a pneumatic press before fermentation. To extract the maximum aromas from this variety, José Pariente Sauvignon Blanc is kept on the lees until clarification and subsequent filtering.

José Pariente Sauvignon Blanc 2022 is a young and exciting wine, with a straw yellow colour and greenish hues. Intense nose with mineral and herbaceous touches. On the palate, it’s fresh, unctuous and voluminous. Very well balanced. Citrus fruits (grapefruit) predominate. Vibrant finish.

José Pariente Sauvignon Blanc 2019 is an aromatic white wine redolent with scents of exotic fruit, herbaceous undertones, and delicate mineral nuances. On the palate, it is zesty, crisp, and refined. A vivacious sauvignon blanc boasting a solid structure and a lingering finish. 
2014 The taste is fresh, elegant and with good acidity. Persistent.

Pale golden color with some green highlights.

Fresh nose. White flowers and sweet tropical fruits, memories of freshly cut grass and a slight mineral touch.
2013 On the palate it has the fresh, clean elegance typical of Sauvignon Blanc. A highly intense wine, structured, persistent and rounded.

Pale yellow with greenish hues.

This wine's aromatic expression is an exceptional combination of vegetal notes and exotic fruits, with nuances of freshly cut grass and a hint of minerality.
2012 In the palate, this wine is pleasant. A very fresh Rueda wine with a light mid palate. Marked varietal character. Very good acidity. Long finish with a good persistence.

Nice pale yellow colour with greenish reflections and steely edges. Very clean and very bright, almost crystalline.

Highly intense and very aromatic nose. Its aromas of white stone fruit and ripe and quite sweet tropical fruit stand out along with some aromatic floral notes and delicate mineral touches.
2011 Very fresh, light and slightly unctuous Rueda wine. Very nice wine with a marked varietal character, a very good acidity and a correct finish with a good persistence.

Pale yellow colour with greenish reflections. Bright and very clean, nearly crystalline wine with slightly glyceric tears.

Very aromatic wine with lots of ripe and quite sweet white and tropical fruits, stone fruits, fragrant flowers and a background of delicate mineral notes.
2010 Good attack, full of freshness and varietal flavours. A slightly oily and very tasty mid palate. Good acidity and good persistence.
