Joseph Drouhin Meursault is a biodynamic white wine cask made by Joseph Drouhin with the Chardonnay variety in AOC Meursault/ Côte-d'Or, in Burgundy (France).
Since the young entrepreneur Joseph Drouhin founded his own wine company in Beaune (Burgundy) in 1880, his family has acquired top quality vineyards for generation after generation and at present they have some of the best in Burgundy. Today the fourth generation continues this legacy by making pure, fine, elegant wines under biodynamic precepts.
Joseph Drouhin Meursault came into existence south of Beaune, in the Côte des Blancs. A Premier Cru vineyard with limestone and clay soils where biodynamic agriculture is practiced and the yield is limited to 45hl/ ha. Harvest is carried out manually at the optimum moment for the Chardonnay variety.
In the winery, the grapes of Joseph Drouhin Meursault are slowly pressed and the must obtained is fermented spontaneously with native yeasts. Finally, the wine ages in French oak barrels for 12 months.
Having as its top priority the true expression of the terroir and the character of the vintage, Joseph Drouhin Meursault is worthy of the wonderful Meursault, one of the oldest towns in Burgundy and offering the maximum expression of the Chardonnay variety. A magical balance between smoothness and freshness.
