Julien Guillot Mâcon Cruzille Cuvée 910 is a natural, organic and biodynamic, barrel-aged red wine made by Clos des Vignes du Mayne with the Chardonnay, Gamay and Pinot Noir varieties in the French denomination AOC Mâcon-Cruzille, in Burgundy.
Clos des Vignes du Mayne comes from vineyards that were planted and vinified by the Cluny Abbey as early as 910. Since then they have been cultivated generation after generation without using any chemical products. When the Clos was acquired by the Guillot family in 1958, they continued with this philosophy of organic cultivation. The estate is now run by Julien Guillot who has turned the 7 hectares of vineyard into biodynamic land with Demeter certification. As a result, he produces an authentic raw material that he vinifies with minimal intervention.
Julien Guillot Mâcon Cruzille Cuvée 910 comes from old, chemical-free vines planted on clay and calcareous soils. They are cultivated organically using biodynamic treatments made from plants. The harvest is carried out manually, selecting the best berries in the vineyard itself and taking them to the winery in carts pulled by bulls.
Following in the footsteps of the Cluny Abbey monks, the Julien Guillot Mâcon Cruzille Cuvée 910 grapes are foot-pressed and vinified with minimal intervention and spontaneous semi-carbonic fermentation in wooden vats. The wine then ages in barrels and is finally bottled without filtering, clarifying or adding sulphur.
Julien Guillot Mâcon Cruzille Cuvée 910 is a special cuvée made to commemorate the eleven hundred years of winemaking in this prestigious Domain. A more “medieval” blend.
