About Klein Constantia Sauvignon Blanc

Klein Constantia Sauvignon Blanc is a white wine made on lees by Klein Constantia with the Sauvignon Blanc variety in the Cape Town region of South African.

Klein Constantia was the first wine estate in Cape Town (South Africa), established in 1685 by the Cape’s first Governor, Simon va der Stel. A spectacular location of vineyards surrounded by lush vegetation and ancient trees that is great for making wine because of its good weather and geological conditions. The wines are now known around the world for their elegance, minerality and balance.

Klein Constantia Sauvignon Blanc comes from vineyards planted on slopes with decomposed granite soils that enjoy a gentle and constant sea breeze. Members of the World Wide Fund for Nature, WWF, they use respectful agriculture that allows for cultivation and conservation at the same time. When the grape reaches optimum ripeness, it is selected and harvested manually. 

In the winery, Klein Constantia Sauvignon Blanc is classified and the grapes are gently pressed in batches. The resulting must ferments in stainless steel tanks and spends 7 months on its lees. Finally, the different batches are mixed to create an original, unique and very elegant wine.

Klein Constantia Sauvignon Blanc is the result of a selection of the exclusive terroirs at this legendary South African winery that is steeped in history. An elegant, mineral and well balanced wine.

The 2022 Klein Constantia Sauvignon Blanc dazzles with its clarity and brilliance, beckoning one to explore its crispness. As one brings it closer to the nose, lively grapefruit notes unfurl along with sweet hints of fig, conjuring an aura of vernal freshness. Upon tasting, its lightness intertwines with hints of salinity, enhancing the flavor profile and leaving a smooth, delightful texture on the palate. This youthful white wine is a symphony of aromas and tastes that encapsulate the essence of its terroir.
2018 Klein Constantia Sauvignon Blanc is an aromatic white wine with intense citrus fragrances and a mineral background. On the palate it is enveloping and full-bodied with bright acidity. The mid-palate reveals fresh citrus and melon flavours. It has a rich and lasting finish.
