About La Brecha Finca La Larga

La Brecha Finca La Larga is a Tempranillo red wine, harvested from old vines, aged in wood and produced by Fedellos do Couto in the D.O Ribera del Duero, in the south of the Burgos region, in Castilla y León.

This wine is made by Curro Bareño and Jesús Olivares, who are behind Fedellos do Couto, a project set up in Ribera Sacra in 2013 that has created several wines that have been featured on the cover of prestigious publication Decanter. Now, in a new adventure, they have swapped the Sil valley for the Duero valley, where they make La Brecha Finca La Larga together with Cristina Boch and winegrower Isaac Esteban.

To make this wine, they use Tempranillo (also known as Cencibel, Tinta de Toro or Tinta del País), growing south of Burgos in La Larga, (a 30 hectare estate in Gumiel del Mercado) and in other villages, like Caleruega, at an altitude of over 1000 metres.

La Brecha Finca La Larga is a fresh, smooth and easy to drink wine. The perfect introduction to the Ribera del Duero.

La Brecha 2016 stands out for a very expressive nose, with aromas of ripe red fruits (plums, redcurrants and raspberries), dried fruits and a touch of freshly cut grass, tobacco, coffee and cocoa. On the palate it is pleasant and flavoursome with strawberries and wild berries (blackberries and currants).
