About Gutiérrez de la Vega La Diva

In the operatic context, the term "soprano" denotes the highest and most luminous voice within the vocal categories. Sopranos are renowned for possessing a vocal range that extends from considerably high notes to the lowest within the female spectrum. Many illustrious sopranos throughout history have been deemed divas, and the term has been employed to pay tribute to their artistry and the profound influence they have exerted on the opera and classical music realms. Similarly, the oenologist Felipe Gutiérrez de la Vega settled in Marina Alta (Alicante coast) to give voice to the region's diva grape variety: the Muscat. Furthermore, in each of his creations, where he also works with Garnacha and Monastrell, he pays homage to literary or musical works that have made a significant impact on his life, such as Bellini's opera aria "Casta Diva", "The Leopard" ("Il Gattopardo") by Lampedusa, or the novel "The Red and the Black" ("Le Rouge et le Noir") by the French author Stendhal.

Like a grand diva, Gutiérrez de la Vega La Diva is presented. A sweet white wine made from 100% Muscat grapes grown in chalky white soils on terraces located 200 meters from the sea. The moist soils, the maritime influence, and the organic treatments endow the grapes with supreme quality. The harvest is conducted late, when the clusters are completely raisined. In the winery, the grapes are gently destemmed and carefully pressed. The juice obtained ferments with indigenous yeasts for 60 days in 300-liter oak barrels. Finally, the wine matures for 12 months in 225-liter French oak barrels with regular batonnage.

Like a grand diva, Gutiérrez de la Vega La Diva transports us to the Alicante coast in the most harmonious manner. A symphony of flavors that, akin to an unforgettable aria, lingers on the palate, leaving a sweet and complex melody that celebrates the mastery of the oenologist Felipe Gutiérrez de la Vega.

Gutiérrez de la Vega La Diva 2021 is a sweet wine that dazzles with its dark amber hue and captivating character. On the nose, it reveals a unique complexity, where notes of candied orange peel intertwine with fresh mint and a delicate hint of spice. On the palate, it is surprisingly fresh and balanced, with an elegant sweetness that never becomes cloying, despite its remarkable concentration. A sweet wine with soul, intensity, and rarity, limited to just 600 exclusive half bottles.

As we bring our nose closer to the glass, we are greeted by a panoply of scents that conjure images of luscious peaches, succulent dried apricots, and the intense sweetness of heather honey, all seasoned with a hint of cinnamon and a whisper of Mediterranean herbs. On the palate, it unfolds with finesse, presenting flavors of bitter oranges that balance its subtle sweetness, offering a broad and complexly sweet experience that lingers.
