Fillaboa 1898 2022 is a white wine that reveals itself with deliberation and depth, where the aromas of fine toast intertwine with ripe fruit, baked apple, and delicate hints of patisserie. On the palate, it enters smoothly, almost silkily, progressing with an enveloping volume supported by perfectly integrated acidity. About La Fillaboa 1898

The commercial and maritime relations between Spain and Latin America have been pivotal throughout history, forming one of the most significant pillars in the development of both regions' economies and cultures. Bodegas Fillaboa, which means "good daughter" in Galician, is one of the largest, most beautiful, and oldest estates in Galicia, and it sought to commemorate the year 1898, when the albariño variety first crossed the ocean on a sailing ship bound for Cuba. A journey laden with symbolism that evokes the albariño's own transformation process within the winery: a voyage that, like the sailing ship traversing the ocean, embodies evolution, challenge, and the passage of time.

This is how La Fillaboa 1898 has become the winery's premium wine. An albariño from a designated plot called Monte Alto, characterised by its sandy loam soil and Atlantic climate. The vineyard is cultivated with care, and production is limited to between 2,000 and 4,000 kilograms per hectare. Following a meticulous harvest carried out by plots, the best grapes are selected at the winery and gently pressed. The resulting must ferments with native yeasts and the wine then ages for 6 years on fine lees in stainless steel tanks, with periodic bâtonnage.

Awarded numerous accolades at prestigious national and international competitions, La Fillaboa 1898 has become one of the great treasures of the D.O. Rías Baixas. Its elegance, complexity, and character have succeeded in bringing the essence of this unique wine region to every corner of the globe, becoming a perfect ambassador of Galician tradition and heritage.

La Fillaboa 1898 2016 exhibits a straw-yellow hue with golden highlights. On the nose, it reveals toasted aromas reminiscent of ripe fruits such as peach and pear, complemented by bakery notes.
