About La Forcallà de Antonia

La Forcallà de Antonia is a red wine produced by Rafael Cambra in Alforins, Valencia, under the D.O. Valencia. The work philosophy of the winery it to minimise human intervention, as they believe the wine is created at the vineyard. The winery is a “bodega de garaje” (a garage winery), in that it works on a notably small scale.

The vineyards are mainly home to the Monastrell and Cabernet Sauvignon grape varieties, as well as some native varieties such as the Forcallá grape. It is a 55 year old vineyard that Rafael is attempting to recover and rejuvenate.

La Forcallà de Antonia macerates for two weeks, 10% of the grapes macerate whole. The wines is aged for 8 months in (500litre) barrels.
